5 for 5 this Mother's Day
With Mother’s Day coming up, the kids and I are enjoying reading the book called "Five Minutes' Peace” by the talented author Jill Murphy. I can really relate to Mrs Large, doing her best to get away from her adorable (and boisterous) kids for just five minutes. It’s a snapshot into daily family life, and my kids get a giggle when they can see that Mrs Large and their own Mom are not so different after all. Mrs Large takes refuge in her bathroom, but it soon becomes clear that quiet time is very short lived when you have a family……
Your family appreciates all the fun and learning that you bring to them each day, so at least try to take a five minute break for yourself this Mother’s Day.
With this in mind, we thought we would brainstorm some fun ideas that might just give our Mom's five minutes peace (well, almost)…..
Why not start with something simple…...
1. Read some magazines by yourself
2. Take a bath (and lock the door)
3. Take a short walk around the block
4. Practice mindfulness over a cup of coffee
5. Take a five minute yoga class online!
That's 5 for 5 this Mother's Day!
