These self-correcting puzzles introduce the 26 letters of the alphabet with mnemonic images. Each mnemonic relates to the sound of the letter and helps children learn both the sound and the letter formation. To play as a puzzle game simply match the mnemonic letter with the letter of the alphabet. Covers all 26 letters.

Consonant Blends kit from Phonics Bloxs covers all the most common adjacent consonants, both beginning and ending. There are 30 activities that are introduced according to a progression, moving from simple to more challenging. Colour-coding support the phonics relationships, along with interactive captions and activities. Simply choose the blox from the bottom and use these to build words. After completing all 30 activities children will have mastered consonant blends.

The decoding set covers the next 18 letter patterns and teaches decoding with the first 44 sounds. Children will enjoy the variation across the activities, and the colour-coding implicitly supports their developing decoding skills. Simply choose the phonics blox to use for each activity as listed at the bottom, then slide them together to spell or decode words. Follows a systematic progression and relates to Phase 3 of the Rainbow Phonics program. A fun, hands on way to learn decoding skills.

Q: What does ‘self-correcting’ mean?

A: Each puzzle has been designed to only work with the correct answer and the pieces won’t connect if the mnemonic and letter do not match.

Q: What age range is this puzzle suitable for?

A: The puzzle is most suitable for children aged 3+
